On Wednesday 19th June the school’s annual cricket match against the MCC, took place on the main school cricket field.
The MCC are a team of adults, some of whom have played to a very high level and consist of some of our Old Birkonian's and against current pupils.
It was a good game and a good challenge for the schools current team on the day and over all the results were-
MCC won by 134 runs
MCC 216-3
Birkenhead 82 all out
Within the MCC team were OB's Ashley Davis a 2010 leaver, Dominic Smith a 2016 leaver and Madeleine Arthur a 2020 leaver.
OB Madeleine Arthur was actually the first girl to play in the first team for the school. Currently doing a masters at Loughborough University but manages to still find time to be chair of the University club and captain of the 1's. She also broke a record at Bucks, which is a fantastic achievement within the sport.
