Old Birkonians taking park in a 130 mile Charity Run

Story Written by Sam Cottrell & Chris/Alex Smylie

OBs Alex Smylie, Chris Smylie and Sam Cottrell to run in the Anglesey Coastal Path 130-mile Run!!

I am an Old Birkonian, along with my brother (Tom) and father (Simon), whose (Aunty - Sarah Martindale) sadly passed away from cancer last month.

Sarah worked as a teacher at Birkenhead Prep school for many years and had her funeral service in the school chapel a couple of weeks ago. The service was extremely sad, but at the same time was a lovely celebration of her life.

With the above in mind, I decided along with best friend for life (made at Birkenhead School) Chris & Alex Smylie (who sadly lost their mum to cancer a couple of years ago) that we wanted to do a little something to try to help.

Chris & Alex also had a younger brother Adam who was an Old Birkonian.

So 3 weeks tomorrow we will be doing a 130 mile trail run due to take 3 days, around the Anglesey coastal path for Clatterbridge Cancer Charity.

We would love it if you could support our cause and donate to the just giving charity page, please find link below.

Any help and support would be greatly appreciated in trying to raise as much money as possible for the amazing work they do at Clatterbridge cancer charity.
