OB Andrew Walker takes part in the Chester-Liverpool 25 mile Charity Bike Ride

On 2nd July 2023 OB Andrew Walker took party in the 25mile Chester-Liverpool Bike Ride, and successfully raised £200 for Clatterbridge Cancer Charity.

The charity holds a special place in his heart , and did a fantastic job taking part and raising money for a very worth while cause. Andrew's full story is below:-

I have been in remission from Stage III cancer since treatment at Clatterbridge Oncology Centre in 1998.  Having found out about the Liverpool -Chester-Liverpool ride, I decided to do 25 miles for the Cancer Charity in memory of my beloved father, George Emlyn Walker, my Granddad John Kelsall Rogerson, my aunt Betty Walker, and my cousin's husband John Morgan.  RIP.

It was most remiss of me not to express my thanks to the doctors and nurses at Clatterbridge, because I owe them my life.  Incidentally, after I had recovered from the chemotherapy, I use to cycle to Clatterbridge over several months for my appointments with the oncologist Dr Peter Clark, because it was a lot faster than the bus!  However, in view of the traffic, I don't dare do it now.
