We're thrilled to announce that Birkenhead School has been crowned THE SUNDAY TIMES INDEPENDENT SECONDARY SCHOOL OF THE YEAR IN THE NORTH WEST .
The Sunday Times Parent Power Guide is widely recognised as the definitive ranking of the UK's top state and independent schools.
We understand that the award reflects our outstanding A Level and GCSE results from back in August, and is also in recognition of our belief and delivery of exceptional co-curricular opportunities for the students whilst delivering academic excellence for all. The announcement comes as we conclude a run of sold-out performances of Treasure Island and regional rugby and debating successes last week.
We're extremely proud of this recognition which reflects the collective efforts of students, staff and families, and we hope you will join us in celebrating and sharing the news with family and friends!
You can read more in the full Parent Power Schools Guide, live now at http://thetimes.com/best-schools-league-table (subscription required), or you can buy a copy of the guide in this week's Sunday Times (8th December).
